| 内容記述 | In this paper, I examine Hoffmann’s The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids, with a particular focus on how the story can be explored and interpreted in early childhood education settings. Rather than conducting an author centered literary analysis, I adopt a reader response theoretical framework, which emphasizes how readers actively “fill in the gaps” through their own imagination. Drawing on insights from folktale studies, I discuss how children in educational settings make sense of and respond to this story. Finally, I propose ideas for practical applications in early childhood classrooms, as well as concrete approaches for creating opportunities in teacher training programs that encourage future educators to engage in the practice of imaginatively filling narrative gaps. |
